Job Summary

Highmark Health is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing prescribed CT imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. You will competently perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Positions patients and performs imaging procedure(s)
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures
• Enters, transmits, and reports scan results
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders
• Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
• Prepares equipment and supplies
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions, as necessary

Requirements

• Associate degree; or Certification from a technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Radiography Certification and Registration (R) or ARRT– Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification and Registration (N) or ARRT– Radiation Therapy Certification and Registration (RT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
• Computed Tomography (CT) Certification is required within 18 months of hire
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working as a CT Technologist
