Delivery Driver Job DescriptionJob Summary: The Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering orders and collecting payment from customers in a timely and professional manner, representing the high standards of The Original NY Pizza.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Deliver Orders: Make deliveries of our products to residential and commercial locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
- Customer Interaction: Learns the names of regular customers and personally recognizes them, providing excellent customer service.
- Cross-Training: Cross-trains for other positions as needed, such as phone order taker, prep, and order preparation, to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Accurate Record-Keeping: Records completed delivery orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register or POS system.
- Guest Payment: Accepts guest payment, has credit card receipts signed, and makes change (if applicable).
- Equipment Maintenance: Cleans and maintains equipment and work area associated with the job function, reporting equipment problems and maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
- Restocking: Assists in restocking and replenishing product and supplies as stipulated in the shift duties.
- Sanitation: Washes and sanitizes all dishes, keeping the back kitchen clean and organized.
- Flexibility: Is available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant, as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
- Route Optimization: Prioritizes best routing for more than one delivery at a time, ensuring efficient delivery routes.
Requirements:
- Age: Be 18 years of age.
- Language: Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
- Communication Skills: Possess suitable communications skills to create a positive interaction experience with our customers.
- Driving License: Possess a valid state driving license.
- Vehicle: Have use of a properly maintained, licensed, and street-legal vehicle capable of driving up to two-hundred miles per day.
- Insurance: Maintain minimal or higher insurance coverage as mandated by state law.
- Driving Record: Maintain an acceptable driving record as stipulated by company policy or insurance carrier.
- Navigation: Be capable of reading a map and interpreting written directions.
- Math Skills: Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and make change.
- Physical Demands: Be able to work in a sitting, standing, and walking position with frequent changes between positions, and be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
