Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' physical abilities, functional mobility, and motor skills.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques to address students' unique needs and goals.
  • Provide direct physical therapy services to students in various settings, including one-on-one sessions and group activities, focusing on improving strength, coordination, balance, and gross motor skills.
  • Collaborate closely with school-based teams, including teachers, administrators, and other therapists, to integrate therapy goals into students' educational plans and support their participation in classroom activities and extracurricular programs.
  • Monitor student progress, document treatment sessions, and maintain accurate records of services provided in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide education and training to school staff, parents, and caregivers on strategies to promote students' physical development, safety, and independence in the school and community environments.
  • Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in pediatric physical therapy and participate in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist or eligibility for licensure through the state licensing board.
  • Certification in Pediatric Physical Therapy (preferred).
  • Previous experience working with children and adolescents with diverse physical and developmental needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced educational environment.
