Key Responsibilities- Prepare food in a timely and appealing manner, using standardized recipes and proper cooking methods.
- Adequately prepare food quantities based on patient need and cafeteria volumes.
- Understand special diets and consult with the dietitian as needed.
- Ensure food safety by using proper cooking, cooling, and reheating techniques.
- Check temperatures regularly prior to serving food and label, date, cover, and store food properly.
- Utilize sanitizing techniques for food, self, and equipment.
- May assist with restocking work stations, putting away grocery orders, operating a cash register, and maintaining adequate food stock.
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Associate's or vocational degree in the culinary field preferred.
- 0 to 2 years of food service experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required upon hire.
This role requires medium work, with lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently.
