About the Role

Haynes International is seeking a highly skilled Machinist to join our team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a wide range of machine tools and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lay out, plan work, setup, and operate machine tools and equipment to manufacture precision parts and components.
  • Design and/or work from complex designs to lay out, field test, and fit, inspect, fabricate, and/or repair complicated parts.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as floor-controlled or overhead cranes, prime movers, or work savers to perform work related to the craft.
  • Assist, direct, and train apprentices in the industrial maintenance and Machinist craft.
  • Maintain records and follow recordkeeping processes.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and credentialed Machinist journeyman's card or six (6) years' documented experience in industrial/manufacturing machining.
  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety and ability to complete a company-specific safety orientation.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of system operation, building plans, and working drawings.
  • Hold a Machinist Journeyman's card or 6 years of experience as a Machinist.
  • Experience working with equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts.
  • Knowledge of the use and care of tools, safety practices, blueprint reading, as well as mathematics, mechanical drawings, etc.
  • Knowledge of installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery.
  • A comprehensive understanding of lathes, shapers, drill presses, planers, broaching, grinders, milling machines, and other tools.
  • Knowledge of cutting coolants, lubricants, and their uses.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to seventy-five percent of work time.
  • Must have a complete knowledge of piping systems, air, medical gas, water, fire protection, steam, and all other utilities and their bypass systems.
Essential Skills
  • Mathematics - add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions.
  • Language - read and interpret the following documents: safety policies, follow all operating and maintenance procedures, follow all emergency procedures, and various manuals.
  • Reasoning ability - ability to apply common sense and understanding; ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions; and the ability to interact with coworkers through communications and acceptance of expectations and accountability.
  • Communication skills.
  • Experience working within an industrial maintenance, specifically manufacturing, environment.
