Job Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides basic patient care under the supervision of a Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician). This role requires excellent customer service skills, Provider support with checking Veterans/patients into the clinic, retrieving medical documentation, scheduling, and examination assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Record patient information and care provided in electronic medical records (EMR) or patient charts.
  • Scheduling, intake, discharge, and customer service of all Veterans in the clinic.
  • Assisting with performing procedures under the delegation of the Health Care Provider in the clinic after proper training and competency checks.

Additional Duties:

  • Support Trusted Medical, Providers, and other healthcare professionals with tasks as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with healthcare practices and protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
  • Current certification as a CNA in the state of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday.
  • No weekends.
  • No holidays.

Immunizations Required:

  • TB Screening (less than one year old).
  • Hep B Titers (less than 1 year old).

Immunizations Strongly Recommended:

  • COVID vaccination and boosters.
  • MMR Titers (less than 1 year old).
  • Varicella Titers (less than 1 year old).
  • TDAP Immunization (less than 10 years old).
  • Flu Immunization (within current season).
