Medical Screener

As a Medical Screener at CSL Plasma, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our donors. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough medical screenings to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess self-administered health history and answer basic medical questions associated with the donation process.
• Refer donors to medical staff when necessary and perform health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
• Upon completion of training, educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma.
• Register applicants and transfer donors based on operational needs.
• Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls to appropriate staff members.
• Maintain alertness and awareness to any donor reactions during or after the pheresis process and notify staff accordingly.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.

Requirements:

• Minimum of three months experience in a clerical or customer service position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
• Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.
