About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GIS Analyst Intern to join our team at ICF. As a global consulting services company, we provide specialized expertise and innovative solutions to help our clients achieve their goals.

This internship involves creating, updating, and maintaining spatial and design data in support of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) document preparation and solutions related to compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform data capture, updates, and analysis within ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Manage and document geodatabases and keep metadata updated.
  • Design and develop maps as needed for both hardcopy and website use.
  • Employ various remote sensing data, including LiDAR products, to enhance maps, update elevations, and assign surface type classifications.
  • Extract and develop data from a variety of sources including engineering drawings, survey plats, tax records, and plat maps.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a master's degree in GIS, geography, planning, or a GIS-related field with an anticipated graduation of August 2025 or later.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software experience with: ESRI (ArcGIS Pro 3.2.0, ArcGIS 10.8.2)
  • Experience with ESRI Extensions (Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst)
  • Web Mapping (ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise)
  • ESRI Field Maps Application
  • Strong ability to work independently while effectively communicating technical and business requirements to both technical and non-technical users.
  • Proven capability to assist with project updates, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Experience with GIS workflow automation using tools like Python and Safe FME is a plus.
  • Excellent quantitative/analytical skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office & Adobe Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and detail-orientation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is: $40,618.00 - $69,051.00
