OB Technician

At Sarah Bush Lincoln, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate OB Technician to join our Labor and Delivery team.

The OB Technician will assist in the provision of direct and indirect patient care services, utilizing sterile technique to support OB/GYN surgical procedures. This role requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to maintain a calm and composed demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

• Assist with direct and indirect patient care, including delivering and picking up patient trays, emptying trash and linen receptacles, and completing data collection for birth certificates.
• Perform clerical duties, such as answering phones, patient intercoms, and liaising among patients, families, and staff members.
• Assist with procedure/case clean-up and room turnover in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment for the patient care areas, including the Cesarean section OR.
• Handle, identify, and deliver all specimens and cultures.
• Perform collection of Neonatal Metabolic, Hearing, and Critical Congenital Heart Disease screenings in the Nursery.
• Assist with procedures in accordance with policies, procedures, and physician orders.
• Observe well newborns in the nursery under the direct supervision of an RN.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• CNA or completion of 1st semester of RN Program - Sarah Bush Lincoln.
