About the RoleAs a Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT, you will play a vital role in our patient-focused care team, providing critical care and diagnostic procedures to patients of all ages. Your expertise will be essential in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases, and you will be responsible for performing basic respiratory equipment maintenance, quality control measures, and other administrative or technical tasks.
Responsibilities- Assess patients appropriately and interpret results accurately
- Suggest alternative respiratory treatment plans
- Exhibit competency in routine patient assessment and correctly recognize and interpret respiratory dysfunction
- Function as a respiratory care protocol assessor, delivering therapy and reassessing patients in a timely manner, and maintaining proper and accurate documentation
- Graduate of an American Medical Association accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required for NICU RRT Staff
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for ICU RRT staff
St. David's Medical Center is a full-service hospital located in central Austin, Texas, featuring a 24-hour emergency department, the region's largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and the internationally-renowned Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute and St. David's Neuroscience & Spine Institute. Our facility includes cancer care, heart and vascular care, imaging services, joint replacement and orthopedics, women's services, complex surgical services, and a Bariatric Surgery Center.
