Role Overview

Under the supervision of a radiologist, this role is tasked with ensuring safe and efficient patient care at the MemorialCare Imaging Center. The Radiologic Technician operates advanced imaging machinery, including angiography, Computerized Axial Tomography, Breast Ultrasonography, and Mammography equipment, at proficient levels and works with minimal oversight. This position involves executing various technical procedures that apply ionizing radiation to both pediatric and adult patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determines the necessary tests to be conducted. Produces high-quality radiographs promptly to provide the radiologist and the patient's physician with accurate medical insights. Administers safe contrast media as required.
  • Assesses and addresses the physical and emotional needs of patients before, during, and after examinations to ensure optimal patient care and a positive experience.
  • Prepares imaging equipment for procedures and maintains cleanliness in the examination area and equipment.
  • Keeps precise records and performs clerical duties as necessary for each examination to comply with departmental and regulatory standards. Accurately documents all procedures and relevant information to ensure correct billing.
  • Utilizes Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and related interfaces to support the integration and success of automated patient care objectives.
  • Engages in the patient flow process to guarantee timely and efficient patient service.
  • Assists in the training of Radiology Technologist students and new staff to provide quality education and orientation within the Radiology Department.
  • Facilitates physician relationships by maintaining clear communication and timely follow-up. Provides additional information on imaging requests to assist the radiologist in dictating necessary findings for examinations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

*Placement in the pay range is determined by various factors, including relevant experience and qualifications. Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in CT special procedures and 2 years of continuous full-time experience as a Radiologic Technician.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accountability.
  • Demonstrated leadership and training abilities to delegate and provide direction effectively.

Education/Certification:

  • Graduate from a CAHEA, JRCERT, and AMA accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Current licensure in specific areas, including CRT, Fluoroscopy, or Mammography. Successful completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA accredited institution.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certified by the State of California Bureau of Radiological Health.
  • BLS certification from AHA is required.
