Job Summary

Orange County Detox is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Detox Technician to join our team. As a Detox Technician, you will play a vital role in the recovery journey of our participants, providing attentive supervision, monitoring their progress, and documenting their observations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision and Monitoring: Provide individualized attention to participants requiring detoxification and residential services, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and thorough records of participant observations, progress, and incidents, guiding their treatment plans and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Recovery Advocacy: Serve as a dedicated recovery advocate, supporting, inspiring, and empowering participants on their journey to sobriety, engaging them in recovery-related activities and encouraging their involvement in community self-help groups.
  • Transportation and Community Resources: Assist with participant transportation to appointments, meetings, and activities related to their recovery, connecting them with valuable community resources to enhance their recovery process.
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing: Manage and oversee drug and alcohol testing to ensure compliance with program requirements and participant accountability.
Requirements
  • Professional Registration: Registration with respected organizations like CCAPP or ACCBC, demonstrating your commitment to ethical standards and professional development in addiction counseling.
  • Recovery Knowledge: A solid understanding of recovery concepts, withdrawal symptoms, and the stages of addiction recovery.
  • Field Experience: Prior experience in addiction counseling, residential treatment, or related fields will be highly beneficial.
  • Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with basic medical practices, including medication understanding, side effects, and adverse reactions, proficiency in measuring vital signs and documenting observations.
  • Certifications: Up-to-date certifications in CPR and First Aid to respond effectively to emergencies, T.B. Clearance, and Health Screening Clearances to ensure your fitness for the role and the safety of our participants.
