Key Responsibilities- Conduct Comprehensive Patient Assessments
Conduct thorough patient examinations, gathering comprehensive medical data, including health history, and analyzing physical examination results.
Order and Interpret Diagnostic TestsOrder and interpret diagnostic tests, such as urine, blood tests, imaging, and assess deviations from normal.
Perform Therapeutic ProceduresPerform therapeutic procedures, including bladder catheterization, instillation of bladder medications, postoperative wound care, pelvic floor biofeedback, transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation, bladder Botox injections, and other duties within the scope of practice.
Develop and Implement Patient Management PlansDevelop and implement patient management plans, documenting consult notes, progress notes, and contributing to continuity of care.
Educate and Advise PatientsEducate and advise patients on adhering to prescribed therapeutic regimens.
Collaborate with Healthcare ProvidersCollaborate with other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
Assist with Triage and CommunicationAssist in triaging in-basket messages, including patient referrals, and communicate with pre- and post-procedure patients about their care.
QualificationsEducational Requirements:
- Master's degree in nursing for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistant Studies accredited by ARC-PA.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
- Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure by the State of California or Physician Assistant (PA) licensure by the State of California.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Experience:
Preferably prior experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in relevant clinical areas such as general surgery, reconstructive surgery, gynecology, or other surgical specialties.
