Key Responsibilities

The Infection Preventionist (IP) will oversee the nursing center's Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) and serve as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator for staff across multiple locations. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting infection prevention and control training for new hires.
  • Designing and implementing educational programs based on identified infection control needs.
  • Developing, monitoring, and maintaining the IPCP to ensure high-quality patient care regarding infection and communicable disease management.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with current RN licensure.
  • Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.
  • A minimum of three years of full-time or equivalent nursing experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate evening and night shift staff.
