The Travel Nurse RN will provide essential care in a step-down unit, focusing on patients transitioning from intensive care to a more stable condition.

Certification Requirements

Job Responsibilities

The unit specializes in caring for step-down and medical-surgical patients. The role involves:

  • No on-call requirements
  • Working every other weekend
  • Floating to other medical-surgical areas, including AU and ER, as needed
Nurse to Patient Ratio

The standard nurse to patient ratio is 1:5, ensuring high-quality care.

Orientation

Availability for the entire week of orientation is mandatory.

Equipment Utilized

Familiarity with the following equipment is preferred:

  • Welch Allyn Vital Sign Towers
  • Sigma IV Pumps
  • EPIC for documentation
Experience Requirements

A minimum of 2 years of experience in PCU/Stepdown nursing is required. Skills in starting IVs are essential, and experience in chemotherapy administration is preferred.
