Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer/Analyst to join our team at the City of Scottsdale, AZ. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing transportation systems, including intelligent transportation systems (ITS), traffic signals, and streetlights. Your expertise will help us improve the safety and efficiency of our transportation network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop transportation plans and specifications for various projects
  • Implement traffic signal timing and coordination plans to optimize traffic flow
  • Conduct studies on traffic signal operations, lighting analysis, and other transportation-related issues
  • Review and comment on signing and striping, traffic signal, streetlighting, and fiber design and construction plans
  • Research and implement emerging transportation technologies
  • Prepare technical diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical specifications related to transportation, traffic signals, and ITS devices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, System Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Three years of relevant experience in ITS, traffic signal, or lighting design, construction, operation, or maintenance
  • Experience in traffic signal timing and transportation signing and striping
  • AzPPE license or ability to obtain within 36 months of hire
