Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in the Pediatric Operating Room, adhering to established standards of practice and protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in perioperative care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance patient safety and quality of care.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based solutions.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire.
- Experience in perioperative care, preferably in a pediatric setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Clinical specialty certification in perioperative nursing.
- Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare information systems.
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions. The successful candidate will be able to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment, and will be exposed to physical, mental, and emotional illness, as well as end-of-life conditions and death.
