Wound Care Physician – Montgomery County, MD

AmeriWound is seeking Physicians from various specialties to deliver wound care services in long-term care settings.

Physicians will primarily operate in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living facilities (ALFs), and long-term care and rehabilitation hospitals, following a schedule coordinated by the Regional Manager (RM). The Physician adheres to a weekly patient visit schedule organized by the RM, Patient Care Coordinator (PCC), and each facility.

Our certified wound educators train and guide our providers and client facilities on effective wound care treatments and follow-up, resulting in improved healing outcomes, enhanced survey scores, and reimbursement benefits under PDPM.

Highlights:

  • Unlimited W-2 earning potential, directly related to provider availability, EMR documentation, patient encounters per month, and number of facilities covered.

  • A dedicated Wound Care/Treatment nurse will accompany at each facility.

  • Malpractice insurance coverage for both full-time and part-time providers.
  • Mileage reimbursement according to standard IRS guidelines.
  • Administrative support provided, allowing more time for personal commitments.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly rounds at assigned facilities within the designated territory.
  • Diagnose patient conditions through physical examinations and/or telemedicine.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, kneel, and perform tasks requiring dexterity, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform medical procedures such as debridement as required.
  • Collaborate and communicate findings and treatment plans with facility clinical staff.
  • Inform patients about their diagnosis and treatment objectives.
  • Document each patient interaction in EMR - APRIMA and maintain accurate medical records on the company-issued laptop.
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in the state.
  • DEA license.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with facility staff and patients.
  • Proficient in using software, particularly EMR documentation, with strong attention to detail.
