Position Overview: The Medical Surgical Nurse delivers expert nursing care through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation in alignment with established facility or departmental protocols. This role involves directing and overseeing the care of assigned patients, utilizing effective communication methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe working environment while maintaining clinical and professional competency relevant to the patient demographic.
- Perform telemetry interpretation as part of patient monitoring.
- Participate in unit-specific competency assessments and complete necessary orientation programs.
Certifications Required:
- AHA BLS - Basic Life Support Certificate
- NIHSS Certificate
Educational Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years in Acute Care or relevant experience in the service line.
Licensure:
- Registered Nurse license in the State of Pennsylvania or a compact license.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Completion of Registered Nurse orientation.
- Current knowledge and competence in nursing practices.
- Ability to prioritize and organize patient care assignments effectively.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Additional Requirements:
- Proof of COVID and FLU vaccinations must be provided at the time of submission; declinations are accepted.
- This position requires floating to multiple units within the Float Pool.
- A clinical interview is mandatory at the time of submission.
- No scheduled time off (RTO) is permitted.
