Orthopedic Technician

As an Orthopedic Technician at Margaret Mary Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our orthopedic clinic. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to work closely with our medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

• Assist physicians in the care and treatment of patients with orthopedic needs
• Maintain the cast room and orthopedic equipment and devices
• Assist with the application and removal of casts and other related duties
• Perform medical assisting functions, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for exams
• Transport patients safely and efficiently
• Assist with patient care as requested, including setting up and tearing down procedures
• Prepare and mail preparation instructions to patients
• Document patient information and test results
• Perform testing as ordered and enter charges
• Assist with procedures, including casting and splinting
• Stock rooms with supplies and maintain equipment

• Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Able to perform basic medical assisting skills, including casting
• Must be able to operate office and medical equipment
• Additional education and training beyond high school is required
• Must be a Certified Medical Assistant
• Minimum of 24 months of orthopedic experience under the supervision of a licensed Provider

Frequent use of hands, walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching, stooping, talking, pushing, and pulling. Occasionally may have to lift over 50 lbs.
