Job Summary

The Okaloosa County, FL is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Custodian to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities, providing exceptional customer service to our staff and visitors, and assisting in the training and supervision of custodial staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the supervision and training of custodial staff, ensuring they are equipped to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking facilities, as well as performing minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and fixtures.
  • Operate a variety of hand-held and electrical equipment, including vacuum cleaners, strippers, and waxers, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure a well-stocked and efficient operation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to staff and visitors, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the facilities maintenance department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; six months of experience in custodial work preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, and to perform tasks that may require physical exertion, such as lifting and carrying heavy objects. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed and to follow all safety protocols and procedures.
