Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Account Specialist to join our team at Professional Physical Therapy. As a Patient Account Specialist, you will be responsible for managing patient accounts, following up with insurance payers, and ensuring timely payment of claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Management: Review and manage patient accounts to ensure accurate and timely payment of claims.
  • Insurance Follow-up: Follow up with insurance payers to resolve claim and payment issues.
  • Denial Management: Identify and resolve denial trends, underpayments, and overpayments.
  • Documentation: Prepare and submit appeal letters and supporting documentation to payers within timely filing guidelines.
  • Productivity Standards: Maintain productivity standards for patient account follow-up and ensure work queues are managed and maintained.
  • Compliance: Maintain a working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, Risk Management, and compliance regulations.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, payers, and internal stakeholders to resolve account issues.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in patient account management or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Certifications: HIPAA certification preferred.
