We are currently looking for a dedicated Financial Controller to oversee our accounting team, assist with property budgets and forecasts, manage monthly closing processes, handle accounts receivable/payable, and ensure adherence to GAAP standards. Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the accounting team and ensure effective management of accounting staff.
  • Oversee the monthly closing process, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, and partner expectations across all accounts and ledgers.
  • Produce and review financial information accurately and promptly, communicating results internally and with partners.
  • Assist in the annual preparation of property budgets and forecasts.
  • Document monthly financials, property budgets, annual audits, and tax returns.
  • Identify and implement systems or processes to enhance internal efficiencies, reduce reporting timelines, and maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
  • Establish and manage the company's financial reporting IT system.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Knowledge and experience in the real estate, construction, commercial, and multi-family sectors.
  • 5-10+ years of experience as a Controller or Accounting Leader in the Real Estate or Construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, Tax, and financial reporting, with excellent skills in data analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in Yardi (or similar software) and advanced MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in preparing annual property budgets.
  • Proven track record in managing the monthly closing process for billing, AR/AP, and cash management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA and/or experience in public accounting audits.
  • Experience in both commercial and multi-family sectors.
  • Prior experience in managing the implementation of new Accounting/Financial Reporting Software.
