Key Responsibilities:- Conduct expert-level reviews of inpatient clinical records to identify gaps in documentation and ensure accuracy of code assignment.
- Communicate with providers to clarify documentation and obtain necessary information for accurate coding.
- Provide leadership and guidance on clinical documentation improvement practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to improve clinical documentation and ensure revenue integrity.
- Utilize Optum's CDI 3D technology to document clarification activity and ensure effective use of approved clarification forms.
- 5+ years of acute care hospital clinical RN experience or Medical Graduate with CDI experience and CDI certification (CCDS, CDIP).
- Experience communicating and working closely with physicians.
- Proficiency in using a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Electronic Medical Records.
- Ability to work onsite at a hospital location in Arroyo Grande, CA, full-time (Monday - Friday).
- BSN degree if a RN.
- CCDS, CDIP, or CCS certification.
- Experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement.
- CAC experience (Computer-Assisted Coding).
