Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Shop Technician to join our team at Ascendum Machinery. As a Shop Technician, you will be responsible for providing timely completion of repairs and maintenance to various construction equipment and machinery within our shop at Ascendum Branch locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and service machinery to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain, safely operate, and care for company-owned tools and equipment per company requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with all safety training, product training, and service department goals.
  • Complete assigned work with minimal re-work and ensure all company safety requirements are followed at all times.
  • Order parts and materials through Ascendum Parts to complete work assignments.
  • Document work in a clear and concise manner and maintain records/photos/other materials as required.
  • Maintain shop and yard cleanliness and promptly report any unsafe conditions.
  • Adhere to instruction/direction of supervisor and actively participate in required training, development programs, and electives.
Requirements
  • Technical school completion in an appropriate field.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
  • Knowledge of safe job practices & regulations related to OSHA, MSHA, and Ascendum Machinery requirements.
  • Aptitude for repairing, trouble shooting, and servicing equipment in changing environments.
  • Mechanical knowledge of tools and mechanical work for repairing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete work with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Customer orientation toward service and building relationships.
  • Ability to work branch hours and extended days as needed.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, bend, climb, and crawl without restrictions.
  • Continuous use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying outdoor/indoor environments with various terrain.
