Industrial Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Westlake Services. This role provides a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the health, safety, and well-being of our personnel and the community.
About the RoleThe Industrial Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective health and safety programs, procedures, and policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This includes conducting risk assessments, developing hazard control measures, and providing training and guidance to personnel on health and safety protocols.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in occupational safety and health, with a bachelor's degree in the field and at least 5 years of experience in industrial safety. They will also be certified as a Safety Professional (CSP) and have a good understanding of regulatory compliance laws, including OSHA General Industry and OSHA Construction.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe working environment
- Conduct risk assessments and develop hazard control measures to mitigate risks and prevent injuries
- Provide training and guidance to personnel on health and safety protocols, including SafeStart and other safety programs
- Participate in incident investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent future incidents
- Develop and maintain accurate records of health and safety data, including incident reports, training records, and hazard control measures
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a safe and healthy working environment, including the Emergency Response Team and other safety teams
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial safety, with a strong background in occupational safety and health
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
- Good understanding of regulatory compliance laws, including OSHA General Industry and OSHA Construction
- Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and computer skills, with a good working knowledge of related databases and applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Able to work in a team-oriented environment and make decisions with limited supervision
The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is sometimes moderate, with occasional exposure to outside elements and usage of required PPE. Travel may be required occasionally.
