Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technology Reporter to join our editorial team at American Banker. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of bank tech and fintech trends, with the ability to break news and write analytical stories on critical industry topics.

Responsibilities
  • Ongoing beat coverage: Develop comprehensive insights into the tech and fintech industries.
  • Cultivate sources and generate enterprise story ideas: Establish strong relationships with industry experts and create innovative story concepts.
  • Report and break news on tight deadlines: Provide timely and accurate reporting on significant industry developments.
  • Research and write daily news articles and bi-monthly feature pieces: Utilize data analysis skills to produce engaging and informative content.
  • Collaborate with editors and colleagues: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality content across multiple platforms.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in reporting: Proven track record in breaking news environments.
  • Able to write with clarity and depth: Demonstrate expertise in crafting compelling stories that resonate with industry professionals.
  • Tight deadline management: Showcase ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Digital media proficiency: Familiarity with CMS, audio/video recording/editing, digital photography, data analysis, and social media tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism: Preferred but not required.
