Job Summary:

As a Truck Driver at Wayne Farms LLC, you will be responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle to transport live poultry from growers to the processing facility. This role requires compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) safety rules and regulations, as well as company policies and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe and secure for operation.
• Load and unload trailers as necessary, ensuring a secure load before movement.
• Maintain accurate documentation of equipment, time, trips, weight, and other relevant information.
• Clean and wash the truck as needed, and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.

Requirements:

• Valid Class A CDL with a minimum of 1 year of verifiable satisfactory driving experience.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation, State, and Federal laws and regulations.
• Ability to read and write legibly, and work unsupervised with self-motivation.
• Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience driving a live poultry tractor trailer.
• Basic math functions and skills.

Work Environment:

This role requires working in an outside environment, including inclement weather, and may involve sitting and driving for up to 10 hours, climbing in and out of the truck cab, lifting up to 75 pounds, and working around raw, live animal odors. The work environment may also be noisy, with moving equipment and decibel levels above 85.
