About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Sunrise Medical. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for performing bench or line assembly operations on a variety of products within production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assembly of product within production line using hand tools and power tools in accordance to specification and work instructions.
  • Performs necessary TQC and documentation sign-offs.
  • Responsible for training and learning a variety of workstations within production line by following training guidelines.
  • Flexes up/down the production line as necessary.
  • Responsible for learning and compliance to policies/procedures applicable to the assembler position.
  • Works closely with department manufacturing scheduler to assure proper work order scan tracking and required work order notes for JD Edwards.
  • Follows department area procedures (D.A.P.) on matters such as KANBAN, scrap/reprocessing and work instructions.
  • Reports on a variety of matters such as scrap, safety, training, attendance, purchase orders, etc.
  • Participates in a self-managed team.
  • Assumes specific responsibilities on a rotating basis for activities/items such as team representative, team indicators, team meeting minutes, etc.
  • Follows all applicable safety/housekeeping guidelines.
  • Performs necessary preventative maintenance.
  • Enters data into JD Edwards - Scanning/travelers back flushing.
  • May work on special projects/assignments upon request.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • One (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend (in English) simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Some computer skills are a preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  • Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Finger Dexterity - The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Wrist-Finger Speed - The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Dynamic Flexibility - The ability to quickly and repeatedly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Extent Flexibility - The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
  • Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Written Comprehension - The ability to read and understand information and idea presented in writing.
  • Vision - Requires close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Attendance - Regular attendance is required.
  • Overtime - Must be able to work overtime, as required.
