Job Summary

The City of Fairburn is seeking a highly skilled Electric Superintendent to oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment, wiring systems, and meters. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring safety and uniform practices within the electric division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct assigned staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects.
  • Coordinate daily work activities, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and inspecting completed work to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, laws, regulations, and standards, and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems and safety procedures.
  • Organize and prioritize department workload, coordinating work schedules and making assignments to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate with Utility Director, Electric Utility Manager, and other personnel to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Requirements
  • Technical or advanced coursework in electrical field operations or electric metering, supplemented by seven years of related experience and one year of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Integrated Transmission System Operator Certification.
  • Ability to work in an office and outdoor environment, with exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
What We Offer

The City of Fairburn offers a competitive salary range of $82,000 to $86,844.86 annually, depending on qualifications. This role is deemed safety-sensitive and is subject to random alcohol and controlled substance testing.
