Job Overview

Bitcoin Depot is in search of a Bank Secrecy Act Officer tasked with managing the organization's regulatory compliance initiatives. This role encompasses various responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Implementing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) measures;
  • Overseeing compliance with the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations and sanctions;
  • Upholding Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) policies and the Code of Ethics.

This position is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

The BSA Officer will lead a variety of compliance operations and manage a team dedicated to daily compliance, risk management, and operational functions that support the overall compliance framework. Key duties include:

  • Acting as the Company’s designated Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer and OFAC Officer;
  • Reporting compliance Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) to the Compliance Officer and executive leadership;
  • Serving as the primary liaison for regulatory examiners and auditors;
  • Maintaining all BSA / AML / OFAC compliance policies;
  • Providing guidance and mentorship on BSA / AML / OFAC matters;
  • Registering as the Company’s main Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) 314b contact and assisting with law enforcement inquiries;
  • Offering BSA / AML / OFAC insights on new Company initiatives;
  • Reporting any staffing or technology challenges affecting the Compliance program’s effectiveness;
  • Overseeing BSA / AML / OFAC program reviews, procedure development, risk assessments, and training initiatives;
  • Supporting Model Risk Management (MRM) activities, including system optimization and model validations;
  • Facilitating international BSA / AML / OFAC compliance efforts;
  • Assisting with BSA / AML / OFAC Vendor Management and Business Continuity planning.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of six years of relevant compliance experience across various regulatory topics;
  • Proven leadership abilities and capacity to influence stakeholders;
  • Experience managing projects across diverse functional areas;
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities;
  • In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the financial services and cryptocurrency sectors;
  • Solid understanding of compliance risks and internal control frameworks;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to summarize findings effectively;
  • Capability to quickly understand complex processes and identify risks;
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail;
  • Experience in a Money Services Business (MSB) environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
