Role Overview

Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team of IT professionals in a permanent role. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying high-volume, low-latency applications for critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance Java applications using Spring Boot and Microservices architecture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, testable, and efficient code
  • Participate in design and architecture discussions, daily stand-ups, and Agile Sprint planning sessions
  • Optimize and effectively manage resources and time of the team members
  • Identify, track, and mitigate risks to the product/application
  • Promote continuous process improvement, especially in code quality, testability, and reliability

Requirements

  • 9+ years of strong experience in Java development
  • Hands-on experience in Java 11, 17, Spring Boot, Microservices, and AWS
  • Good ability to work in an Agile team across product, dev, QA, and release teams
  • Good knowledge of AWS is an added advantage
  • BFS experience is an added advantage
