Job Summary

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in a part-time evening shift position. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identity and review medical records for exam appropriateness
  • Interview patients to obtain medical history and assess risk factors
  • Explain procedures to patients, including risks and benefits
  • Set up equipment and acquire images as per script
  • Review images, make initial observations, and document exceptions
  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies
  • Provide post-care instructions to patients
  • Participate in process improvement activities
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) training
  • Registered in specialty within 12 months of employment
Skills
  • Analytical and clinical skills for determining age-appropriate ultrasound methods
  • Interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with patients and hospital personnel
  • Technical knowledge for operating equipment and computers
  • Ability to work productively in a complex environment
