This position will provide counseling, consultation, outreach services, and prevention expertise in both general college student mental health and alcohol, drugs, prevention, and recovery support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, assessment, outreach, and consultation to undergraduate and graduate students presenting to counseling services or other Center for Well-Being partner areas with a wide range of psychological concerns.
- Provide assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, and resources to undergraduate and graduate students presenting with concerns related to substance use/abuse and/or in need of recovery support.
- Collaborate with Health Promotion, Resiliency, and Violence Prevention and other campus partners on outreach and prevention programming related to college student substance use.
- Provides outreach, workshops, and training on various mental health and health promotion topics as needed.
- Conducts assessment and intervention for urgent and emergent student needs related to substance use/abuse.
- Provides consultation and training to doctoral psychology interns and practicum students on general mental health issues and issues related to substance use/abuse.
- Maintain MN professional licensure and continuing education.
- Doctorate or masters degree in counseling or clinical psychology, social work, or marriage & family therapy.
- Two to five years experience in a mental health, university/college counseling center, or other clinical setting.
- MN independent licensure or license-eligible as an LP, LPC, LPCC, LICSW, or LMFT required.
