Shop Operations Manager

As a Shop Manager at Riverside Transport Inc, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our maintenance shop. This includes supervising technicians, managing shop floor assignments, and ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of technicians on assigned shifts
- Manage shop floor assignments and coordinate with the Director of Maintenance
- Assign work to technicians and make adjustments as needed based on volume and priorities
- Ensure that all technicians are properly logged onto the time clock and work/job they are performing
- Verify that all safety regulations are being followed and that the shop is left in a clean and organized state at the end of each shift
- Communicate effectively with drivers and customers regarding any issues or concerns
- Provide performance input to the Shop Leader and effectively communicate with Operations regarding the status and estimated time of completion of equipment
- Be the primary point of contact for any disputes between shop employees and drivers/customers
- Verify that shop equipment is used safely and properly maintained
- Review work orders to ensure that correct information has been entered and that parts have been properly charged out
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or five to 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of TMW Database software, Time America Payroll systems, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, and Microsoft Word Processing software
- Certifications for Qualified Inspector for Periodic Inspections, Qualified Brake Inspector, and Air Conditioning Certification meeting EPA Section 609 are preferred
