Speech Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech/Language Pathologist to join our team at Kingsburg Elementary Charter School District. As a Speech/Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for administering therapy to children to remediate and improve communicative disorders in the areas of articulation, language, fluency, and voice.

The ideal candidate will have a Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential: Language, Speech and Hearing, and possess the necessary course work and educational preparation to provide therapy to students with communicative disorders. The successful candidate will also have a philosophy and educational standards of excellence consistent with those of the district and community.

• Identify speech, language and hearing handicapped children through survey or screening and referrals.
• Diagnose or assess students through appropriate tests and conferences.
• Establish priorities for remediation of handicapped children.
• Schedule cases to receive either individual or group therapy.
• Administer therapy for handicapped procedures being aimed toward correction or improvement of the disability.
• Initiate conferences with parents, teachers and support services personnel, and provide coordination of these services.
• Maintain, prepare and submit records, individual progress reports, state reports and other records and reports as required by the district.
• Evaluate and make final determination of each child's status in the program.
• Perform periodic follow-up of selected cases to determine stability.
• Perform other duties normally required to be performed by a speech therapist as an adjunct to the regular duties.
• Maintain proper classroom control and a suitable learning environment.

• SLP credential issued from CTC or degree in communicative disorders and seeking to enroll in an SLP master's program.
• Must have experience as a speech therapist or related field.
• Must have a strong understanding of communicative disorders and their impact on students.
• Must be able to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
