As a Fabrication Specialist at Schuff Steel, you will play a crucial role in assisting workers engaged in the fabrication of structural metal products. Your expertise and knowledge in fabrication will be utilized to build complex and high-profile projects in the commercial building, bridge, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Lift, position, and remove workpieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.
- Load, stack, and transport stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or truck.
- Clean and scrape metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping.
- Pick up and transport scrap from work areas.
- Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Perform other routine duties as assigned.
- Assist fellow employees as directed.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or 12 months experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements. Pass the tacking test on the following positions: Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, and Overhead.
