Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified English Teacher - High School to join our team at Lunenburg County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English to high school students and overseeing the production of the school yearbook.

Key Responsibilities

Teach English to high school students, following curriculum guidelines and requirements of the district and state
Comply with school and School Board policies and regulations
Demonstrate mastery of the content area
Maintain discipline in the classroom and use instructional and planning time effectively
Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and parents
Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops
Assume responsibility for the care of materials, equipment, and facilities
Work cooperatively with the administration and collegial peers for the overall successful operation of the school
Develop and maintain a physical environment of the classroom conducive to effective learning
Maintain accurate records and reports implemented by the administration
Demonstrate professional growth
Perform other duties as may be assigned

Requirements

Must hold or be eligible for proper state certification/licensure
