Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Environmental Health Director to join our team at U.S. Tsubaki Power Transmission, LLC. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for directing and providing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program oversight across our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement behavior-based safety practices to promote a culture of safety and well-being among employees.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agency and client safety requirements.
  • Lead the development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Collaborate with location management, Human Resources, and employees to cultivate and promote a safety culture.
  • Provide EHS leadership and direction across all locations, advising management on ways to mitigate EHS risks and continuously improve programs.
  • Manage the company's Environmental Management System (EMS) to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and conformance to ISO standards.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to address EHS incidents and near misses.
  • Support and respond to EHS-related requests from customers and parent company in Japan.
  • Establish and manage ergonomic, injury case management, and return to work programs.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department and collaborate with other managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 7 years of occupational health and safety experience in a construction or manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA Regulations and general industry standards.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation preferred.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate and current annual 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher.
  • CPR / First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Familiarity with safety management software.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize work based on deadlines.
  • Handles confidential information discreetly.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to implement behavioral-based safety techniques to improve/maintain safety performance.
  • Required to travel 50% to 75% domestically.
