Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist/LPN performs procedures within their scope of practice, rendering the safest and most effective service to the patient and surgeon. The Surgical Technologist anticipates the needs of the surgical team, proficiently handling and passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and all other necessary sterile equipment as required.

Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology with one year of Operating Room experience preferred.
Good communication and decision-making skills.
Current Louisiana LPN license (if applicable).
LPNs must have one year of surgical technology experience, acute care setting preferred.
Surgical Technology Certification (CST) preferred.
Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses.
Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting, or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required:
Constant (67%-100%) - reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching
Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc), crawling
