Patient Care Associate

We are a high-energy, fast-paced 30-bed Medical/Surgical/Adult & Pediatric unit that cares for medical and post-operative patients. Our patient population consists of adults 18 years and older, as well as approximately 1-2 pediatric patients per month. Our nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6, with the assistance of Patient Care Associates.

Job SummaryUnder the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient's highest level of wellness. Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.
Qualifications- High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC, or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
- No previous experience required; Mercy will provide a required 175-hour training program that meets the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services requirements.
- BLS required within one month of hire, completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.
