Physical Therapy Assistant

As a Physical Therapy Assistant at Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS), you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide high-quality patient care. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping others and want to make a meaningful impact in their community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer physical therapy modalities such as moist heat, ultrasound, and diathermy, joint mobilization, and whirlpools under the direction of a physical therapist.
- Instruct patients in the use of therapy devices such as crutches and braces in various physical therapy exercises.
- Document therapy activities and results in the patient's medical record.
- Discuss patient condition, progress, and treatment program with physical therapists and other patient care staff.
- Clean and maintain physical therapy equipment and devices.
- Assist in transporting patients to and from the department using the appropriate mode of transportation.
- Perform related clerical duties as needed, such as answering the telephone and scheduling patients.
Requirements:
- Licensed by the State of Ohio.
- Completed an accredited training program to meet all educational requirements.
- Oriented to department and follow attendance, maintain patient safety, confidentiality, dress code, work schedule, and communication skills.
- Follow policies and procedures.
- Ensure personal performance reflects the mission, vision, standards of behavior, and service goals.
