Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant, Certified to join our team at Duke Health Integrated Practice in Durham, NC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect care to patients, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient intake, including vital signs, medication review, and allergy review.
  • Assist with patient room turnover, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Manage medical supplies, restocking patient rooms as needed.
  • Monitor Epic in-basket for clinical staff messages and respond accordingly.
  • Administer immunizations and medications, adhering to competency standards and the 6-rights of medication administration.
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including front desk staff, triage staff, providers, and financial care coordinators.
  • Maintain a safe and infection-free environment, adhering to Joint Commission, OSHA, and Infection Control Standards.
Job Eligibility Requirements
  • Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred.
  • High school or GED graduation is required.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA is required.
  • BLS is required.
Job Hours

This position requires day shifts, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
