As the Plant Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee the upkeep and repair of production machinery and facility infrastructure. Your role will involve planning and managing all equipment and facility projects within budget constraints. You will also be responsible for the training and development of team members to optimize efficiency and safety, as well as organizing and supervising all maintenance activities conducted by in-house personnel or external contractors. This position reports to the Plant Engineer. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing the maintenance requirements of the facility.
  • Executing routine electrical and mechanical repairs on production equipment.
  • Overseeing the preventive maintenance program.
  • Maintaining calibration systems for scales, gauges, and instruments.
  • Managing projects aimed at plant improvements.
  • Reviewing and approving requisitions for necessary parts.
  • Coordinating vendor services while ensuring adherence to company safety standards.
  • Approving vendor invoices.
  • Managing and evaluating the performance of direct reports.
  • Reviewing financial reports, including overtime, to align with company objectives.
  • Conducting interviews and recommending candidates for maintenance positions.
  • Administering disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Supporting the Supervisor in fostering a positive departmental morale.
  • Collaborating with Managers, Supervisors, and production staff on maintenance-related activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with company safety protocols.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Educational background in mechanical, technical, or business fields, typically beyond high school.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant maintenance experience.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership role within maintenance.
  • Experience in implementing or managing:
    • Preventive and/or Predictive maintenance systems.
    • Continuous Improvement initiatives.
    • Key Performance Indicators such as Unscheduled Downtime, MTTR, MTBF, OEE.
    • Visual Management Dashboards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • A people-centric approach to daily operations and interactions.
