Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Technician to join our team at Mercy Health. As a Behavioral Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement daily and weekly programs as assigned by lead staff, providing one-on-one and small group instruction to students with autism.
  • Use Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) techniques to develop skills and behaviors in areas such as recreation, communication, motor, vocational, and socialization.
  • Reinforce desired behaviors through the use of positive behavior supports as established by the ABA consultant.
  • Work with new staff through training, modeling, and observation of ABA treatment techniques, acting as a mentor for ideas and collaboration.
  • Collect data and write anecdotal information on student behavior/progress for collaboration with other staff and instructional purposes.
  • Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing needed materials and supplies.
  • May need to travel to assist with the transition in a typical peer placement or go to a student's home to assist with the generalization of the student's newly acquired skills.
  • Participate in in-service training and behavior analysis program training, attending all staff meetings and recommended training programs and/or conferences.
Requirements
  • Registered Behavioral Technician through the State of Ohio, Psychology board.
  • Must have experience in leading, teaching, and working with special needs children.
  • Preferred: one year of experience working with ABA and autism, preschool population experience, and experience with autism.
