This position is part of a collaborative project funded by the National Science Foundation, focusing on understanding the controls of Eelgrass wasting disease. The project involves experimental, field, and modeling components, coordinated by a team of renowned researchers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement numerical models to simulate disease processes and transmission.
  • Analyze simulations and prepare research results for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Prepare and submit manuscripts on eelgrass and model results for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
  • Present research findings at national and international scientific meetings.
  • Attend project-related meetings and workshops.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Oceanography or a related field.
  • Strong background in scientific programming languages (MATLAB, R, FORTRAN).
  • Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with marine ecosystem dynamics, marine disease processes, and numerical modeling is desirable.
