Biostatistician in Infectious Disease Epidemiology

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Biostatistician to support the Infectious Disease Clinical Research Program (IDCRP) at the Uniformed Services University (USU) in Bethesda, Maryland. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative research effort with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $50,100-$64,000 annually based on a 40-hour work week.
Responsibilities: As a Biostatistician, you will develop, execute, and support clinical research projects with mentorship from the ARI Epidemiologist and the Research Area Director and Deputy Director. Your key responsibilities will include developing statistical analysis plans; working with databases and programming staff to develop data sets; and conducting analyses for the clinical research projects. You will also prepare and present research findings at conferences, through publication in peer-reviewed medical journals, and in reports to USU, DoD, sponsors, and others. Additionally, you may assist in the preparation of new clinical research protocols and amendments, as well as participate in required training for your role.
Required Skills and Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must have a Doctoral degree and a minimum of 0-5 years of experience in the design, conduct, and analysis of epidemiologic studies; statistical analysis of longitudinal data; SAS, STATA, or R proficiency is required. You should also possess knowledge of biomedical science and clinical research, prior experience in infectious diseases is preferred. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to make effective presentations are essential. Publication in peer-reviewed medical journals is highly desirable, and an interest in data visualization is an added advantage.
