Job Summary

Pella Regional Health Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team. As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide evidence-based care, demonstrating accountability, respect, and empathy for patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and family members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Direct the work of support staff in the provision of care, utilizing critical thinking skills with minimal supervision.
  • Perform general nursing duties, including assessments, interventions, and evaluations, with a focus on optimal patient outcomes.
  • Work effectively with patients of various ages, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
  • Current registration and licensure in the State of Iowa as an RN, with a good standing record with the Board of Nursing.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS certification, with new employees certifying within three months of hire date.
  • Current ACLS certification, with new employees obtaining per guidelines of the Education Course Requirements policy.
  • Nursing experience in an acute care setting, preferably in Labor and Delivery.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • High degree of empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness toward others.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Technical and critical thinking skills in relation to sound nursing judgment.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices as they relate to acute care.
