Developmental Health Specialist

The Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia seeks a Developmental Health Specialist to promote optimal developmental health of all children through aiding, coaching, and resource sharing to families and child care providers. This position will help increase the quality of early learning programs and their capacity to support children of all educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and act on developmental health concerns.
- Observe developmental environment and child needs.
- Provide technical assistance and training to child care providers on differences in developmental health.
- Document activities related to children and the environment observation and follow-up activities in identified data system.
- Identify and share resources with families and child care providers to improve quality of early learning skills through an understanding of developmental health.
- An Associate degree in early childhood education or related field from an accredited university/college.
- Minimum two years of experience in a child care setting.
- Minimum two years of experience in training and supporting adults.
- Training and implementation of trauma-informed care, Conscious Discipline, and strengthening families approaches.
- Regularly required to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, walk, use hands and fingers, to handle or feel; reach with hand and arms, climb and/or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to twenty pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds with assistance.
