This role involves actively participating in identifying patient needs and implementing ways to improve patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Use patient-centered values to assist patients with their needs
  • Greet patients with a friendly and compassionate demeanor
  • Take and record vital signs, data collection, and documentation using electronic medical records
  • Prepare patients for examinations and dispose of contaminated supplies
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked for patient use
  • Maintain supplies and equipment, collaborating with coworkers to stock
  • Attend nurse meetings and educational opportunities
  • May be relocated to other offices based on business needs
  • Obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications as needed
  • Perform tasks such as UDS collection, chaperoning, patient escort, and autoclaving
  • Give normal test results and mail labs to patients
  • Referral appointment tracking and referrals/test completion
  • Create tasks and perform eye exams, EKGs, and customer service checks
  • Change sharps containers and biohazard trash
  • Nursing checks, expiration dates on samples/meds, O2 tanks, eye wash stations, and biohazard room checks
  • Follow policies and procedures set by Holston Medical Group
  • Maintain communication with providers to ensure patient needs are met
  • Communicate office issues with the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • CNA certification by the state in which employed
  • CPR certification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
